American Car Nationals Incorporating Canberra Chrysler Day

26/09/2010 (All day)

The American Car Nationals is a static display of American Classic Cars of yesteryear. The event is held annually at the Queanbeyan Showground on the last Sunday in September. The origin of the American Car Nationals goes back to 1991 when a group of enterprising members of the American Car Club of Australia Inc. had the vision of an annual event where enthusiasts of American cars could meet to discuss their hobby and display their dream machines. In subsequent years the numbers have grown to more than 260 superbly presented American vehicles in 40 judging categories and Canberra Chrysler Day is now a regular and important feature of the Nationals, to include Australian Chryslers. The American Car Club of Australia Inc. has close links with the Shannon's Insurance Group who will again be the major sponsor of the event. Local businesses in the ACT and Queanbeyan have also been most supportive.

Nuestra Señora de La Paz is the administrative capital of Bolivia as well as the capital of the La Paz Department.
It is the world's highest administrative capital at an altitude of 3,600 meters (11,811 feet).

The city has a dry climate, with most rain falling from November to March.

Airport

El Alto International Airport is an international airport located in El Alto, near the city of La Paz, in the La Paz Department of Bolivia. It serves national and international air traffic.
The facility served as a focus city for the former Lloyd Aereo Boliviano, Bolivia's national air carrier, and is a hub for Aerosur, currently the country's largest private airline.

El Alto has served as La Paz's airport since the first half of the 20th century, but was modernized in the late 1960s, when its runway was lengthened and a new passenger terminal with modern facilities was built.
The new airport, called "John F. Kennedy" but still referred to as El Alto (as it has been known for several decades), was inaugurated in 1969.
It has since been overtaken by Santa Cruz de la Sierra's more modern Viru Viru International Airport as Bolivia's most important.

Description:

City

Bermuda (officially, The Bermuda Islands or The Somers Isles) sits some 1030 kilometres (640 miles) off the American coast in the Atlantic.
It isn't as hot as the Caribbean islands and its waters are certainly not great for swimming year-round, but Bermuda is warm enough to host the Atlantic's northernmost corals.
The beauty these corals afford, as well as the lure of numerous shipwrecks, makes diving in Bermuda's coastal waters an appealing prospect - that is, in summer when the Atlantic is warm enough to brave without a wetsuit.

Bermuda was first settled by the Brits in the early part of the 17th century. Culturally, Bermuda draws heavily on British influences: cricket is the most popular sport, pubs line the street corners and judges wear wigs.
For some diversity, African slaves and American Indians have contributed to the island's music and dance styles.
In all, Bermuda is an adorable destination of cultural class, British architecture and some fine beaches.

Airport

L.F. Wade International Airport, formerly named Bermuda International Airport, is the sole airport serving Bermuda, a British overseas territory in the North Atlantic Ocean.
It is located in the parish of St. George's and is 10 miles (16 km) east of Bermuda's capital city of Hamilton. In 2006, L.F. Wade International Airport handled about 900,000 passengers, up 7% from 2005.
It has one passenger terminal, one cargo terminal, eight aircraft stands and can support all aircraft sizes up to and including the Boeing 747.
Currently, ten airlines operate seasonal or year-round scheduled services to Bermuda Airport from Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The largest aircraft now operating in regularly scheduled service at BDA are British Airways' Boeing 777-200s.

Brussels, Belgium's capital without doubt and capital of the European Union in the minds of many, is a popular destination of diplomats and business people.
But don't let that lead you to believe there is nothing more to Brussels than a cluster of office blocks, because you would be mistaken. Brussels is a historic city with a beautiful city centre, impressive museums, 19th century palaces, fine cuisine and chocolates and some of the best beer in the world.
And who wouldn't want to visit a city where one of it's main claims to fame is 'Manneken Pis', a tiny peeing statue with a wardrobe of some 725 outfits.

Originally developed on the historic trade route from Cologne to Bruges, Brussels is still easy to reach over land from just about any Western European city. Amsterdam, Paris, London and Cologne are all 3 hours or less by (high-speed) train.
This convenient location, and the fact that a lot of hotels lower their prices between Friday and Sunday, make Brussels especially popular as a weekend getaway.

Airport

Brussels Airport is an international airport located in Zaventem, 6 NM (11 km; 6.9 mi) northeast of Brussels, Belgium.

The airport is home to around 260 companies, together directly employing 6,000 people.

In 2005, the airport was awarded Best Airport in Europe by Airports Council International/International Air Transport Association (ACI/IATA), based on a survey conducted with over 100,000 passengers worldwide.

The airport received an official name on 19 October 2006: Brussels Airport, Welcome to Europe. According to the airport operator, its main characteristics are: European, Welcoming and Efficient.
